Ploesti Raiders will be at the 8th Air force Museum at Barksdale Wednesday, Oct 19th 2011 at 2:00 PM. These are WW2 Bomber veterans who flew low level runs out of North Africa into Romania to raid oil refineries fueling the Nazi war machine: beyond dangerous - beyond important to the Allied war effort. As their surviving numbers have so dwindled, this is stated as their "last" official reunion, and they will be given a tour of the Museum while in Shreveport. Many of the Raiders were trained at Barksdale. Want to shake the hands of heroes? Want to say thank you to those who survived?
